Synopsis

The Nedbank Ke Yona Team search (NKYTS) is a talent reality TV series about young, hopeful and undiscovered talented individuals from South African cities. Predominantly hailing from underprivileged communities and backgrounds, they fight for a chance to make the final squad and thereby make  themselves, their families and communities proud.

Brief

The NKYTS gives footballers between the ages of 18 and 23 a chance to showcase their talent for football by winning a spot on the final squad through an elimination process. The final selected team gets a chance to play in the 2019 Nedbank Cup champions and are also afforded an opportunity to play in trials for a month with a PSL club in order to secure a permanent signing with a professional team.

Success Stories of 2019

Among the final 18 players that played against TX Galaxy in the final, two players went as far as signing professional contracts with ABSA Premier Soccer League teams. Captain of the NKYTS, Thabiso Lebitso signed with Chippa United and Thulani Cele signed with Amazulu FC.
